It It all started with two guys, their families, and a shared passion for adventure travel...

 

The Adventure Travel Expo - Southwest was established in 2018 as a small grassroots event.  It was designed to bring businesses and consumers together in an effort to highlight the local off road/ overland travel industry and community within New Mexico.

2018 was a small event conducted over 6 hours on a Saturday in early March....but it was a huge success.  In that short amount of time we saw roughly 1500 people pass through.  Vendors were selling out of product two and three times over, and consumers were walking through the event with arms full of gear and smiles on their faces.  Positive comments were flying, the vibe was good, and moral from the vendors was high.  We couldn't have asked for a better event.

When the dust settled and we had some time to process the feedback and realize just how successful things were, we found that there was a much stronger need for an event like this in New Mexico than we had originally anticipated.  With that realization we sat down and started planning for our second year.  In 2019 we partnered up with a great sponsor, doubled the size of our event space, and increased our vendor participation three times over.  The result was another successful event with a supportive vendor pool and great public participation.

Moving into the future our intent is to maintain our grass roots feel while expanding the connection between consumers and the businesses they support.  From a community and industry perspective the goal is to maintain a sustainable balance of large and small businesses, as well as local and regional clubs and/or organizations.  Combined we believe this strategy will support a high quality event for consumers while providing continued event growth.  Future plans include an expanded vendor pool as well as value added details like onsite product demonstrations/ tech talks, short user style training courses, and vendor or special guest exhibitions.

VENDORS

Vendor and Title Sponsor invitations will go out in April, with registration opening May 1st.  This event is free to participate in as a standard vendor.  Title Sponsor positions are available for $500, with all funds provided being used to cover event operating costs.  Only those businesses, clubs, and/or organizations with direct correlation to the adventure travel market/ industry will be considered.  Additionally only those with products or services which relate this market/ industry segment will be allowed.  All interested parties may contact us via atexpo.sw@gmail.com.

PLANNING TO ATTEND

This event is free and open to the public however, donations will be accepted for a charitable organization (related to the industry), to be determined at a later date.  Official start time for the event is 9am and things will wrap up at 6pm.  Food and beverage services will be on-site as well as other activities for the family.  Keep an eye on the website and our social media pages for more information to come.
